A couple of questions:

1. I recently bought an Easy Racers 451 carbon fender from a dealer. The one I received is 55mm wide. I was told it's the only width available. I could have sworn that I've seen a narrower version - does anyone know for sure?

2. If this is the only 451 Easy Racers fender, it seems too wide to fit in the carbon fork. Before I take a Dremel tool to it, are there other off-the-shelf fenders that are narrower, and perhaps require less modification to mount on the carbon fork?

Even if you make it fit in the fork... make sure it will clear crank on turns.

Ken,

When I ordered carbon fenders for my GRR a couple of years ago they sent me the EX (wider) version. I returned the front fender to Easy Racers, and they replaced it with the 451 SS (narrower) version of the front fender, which was a tight fit, but fit fine (I had to elongate the hole in the mounting bracket with a round file to raise the fender high enough to keep it from rubbing on the wheel).

Now - this was for the chrome fork. I am not sure what the width of the chrome fork is, compared to the carbon fork.

I would suggest that you contact Easy Racers again and make sure that they sent you the carbon fender made for the SS, not EX, bike.

Meanwhile, I will try to remember to measure the width of my front fender when I get home.

Ken,

The width of the front carbon fender that I have on my 451 mm SS front wheel (edge-edge) is 1.5 inches.
