Yep, despite everything, when it comes time to get another recumbent (soon, I hope) Easy Racers will still be in contention for my money.

Dick,
Hard to believe you don't have the beautiful bike shown on your crazyguyonabike link (http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/dickthornton)! This pic inspired me to start riding the dry dusty hills around where I live after a hiatus of a few years.

Glad to hear 'the best is yet to come' at Easy Racers. It's a classic company and I want them to succeed. My contribution to their success is limited to telling others club riders how comfortable my Tour Easy is, especially at the 50 mile or 75 mile rest stops!

Carl

Yes, Carl, I wish I still had it! After about fifteen years with TEs and GRRs I decided that my knee problems were caused by recumbents. For a while they disappeared after selling the GRR and ridng only uprights. Then the knee pains returned.

I don't think I can blame Easy Racers for my old age!

Recumbent specific knee pain can be a muscle imbalance. Used to be some exercises here recommended by Freddy. More or less ball squats.

You could also try leg extensions, with the emphasis on the extension.

Come to think of it, hold your leg straight out and make your quads as tense as you can. If you hear or feel any knee cap movement when you do this, it is likely that you have an issue with knee cap tracking, and need to to some exercises.

Thanks, John. After all these years I've explored every possible tweak of equipment and body. With the miles I put in my muscles locate every moving knee part pretty well.

Last year a doctor told me I had osteoarthritus and cartilage wear. He sincerely wanted to perform some arthroscopic surgery on my knees because he could. I opted not to after my research showed that outcomes with and without the surgery were pretty much identical.

I need something to lay down a fresh coating of cartilage! Until that day I'll just have to spin away and not load the knees too much.

Thanks, Tim. I have all my accessories. All I need is the bike to hang them on, about ten days I'm told.
