Brian,
Something doesn't make sense here. I looked at those two drawing too. And I agree that they aren't the most clear, BUT I don't see why it won't work, and can't see how it could possibly be 90 degrees off.
Yes I agree that the angle of the dropouts is slightly different on the two forks pictured.
It looks to me like they have changed the orientation of that little pinch screw, but all that does is hold the end cap on, and keep the hub from slipping apart when it is out of the dropouts. It doesn't do anything else.
If you look at that raised oval shape on the end cap, it is oriented the same on both the older and the newer hub.
Just for reference, the side of the hub with the pinch screw should face the right, or chain side, of the bike, and the cams that adjust the trajectory should be positioned down and below the quick release skewer.
Do both of your end caps have the pinch screw? Seems to me like some of the later hubs may be built this way.
You don't by chance have wheel reversed in the fork, or mounted with the trajectory cams above the skewer do you????? Both are easy to do.
In any case, while I like my wheel, and would buy it again, it has NOT been trouble free. I have to service it regularly, which I've learned to do.
I wasn't sure that Pantour was even still around. You never hear anything about them any more, and their website is many years out of date.
Depending on how you use your bike, you may very well be better off without this wheel.
Just my opinion of course, but also based on some experience.
Good luck,
Joe
